Brewing and Grinding Intermediate

With Benjamin Hohlmann and André Strittmater

To summarize the past two days I spent in Basel at the Kaffeemacher Kaffeeakademie I’ll say it was totally worth it. I think it’s very useful to understand the process of brewing better and most importantly to learn how the different parameters affect the brew so you can get the best our of every coffee.

And the whole process was even fun, because when it comes to conducting experiments it is much easier and faster to do them in a group then alone and you get to discuss the results. For me I can say I learned to trust my palate better, I feel a bit more confident in what I am tasting.

Of course these new SCAE courses part of the CDS have a long way to go. The material is a lot and it’s very hard to go through it only in day and a half, also for the exam there’s more time needed. But as a whole I’m glad I attended and look forward to the next course. Thank you Kaffeemacher!
